At Lifeworks, we are invested in our capability to ensure culturally appropriate service by translating materials into a variety of languages and hiring native speakers in Spanish, Hmong, and Somali. Contact us at 651-454-2732 if you need information in an alternate format. All of our facilities are physically accessible.
Lifeworks partners with referral sources through state vocational rehabilitation services and county case managers along with residential and transition programs. People can use their DD, BI, CADI, or self-directed waivers dollars to purchase services. Lifeworks also supports people funded through vocational rehabilitation services who choose to pay privately to create a person-centered plan. Whether a person is interested in employment, community skill building, center-based services, or a combination of offerings, Lifeworks has a program that will work for you.
Community Skill Building
Community Skill Building provides a structured environment within the community where participants can engage in activities other than work.
Participants meet at their own unique hub to learn and improve skills while engaging in the community with a staff member and a small group of peers.
Community Skill Building supports people as they improve their navigation skills, learn to use public transportation, increase their independence, build natural relationships, and gain knowledge through authentic experiences as community members.
At Lifeworks, we understand that transportation can be a barrier for people with disabilities. That’s why we are committed to pursuing all available transportation options and creating unique solutions for you.
Transportation to Lifeworks Day Services programs vary by location. Options that may be available to you include:
- Catching a ride on a Lifeworks-owned bus
- Utilizing Metro Mobility
- Riding on Transit Link
- Taking a city bus
- Getting a ride arranged by Lifeworks through a private bus company
While we will always do everything we can to ensure our programs are accessible, we cannot guarantee that transportation is available to a Lifeworks Day Services program.
