The Latest at Lifeworks – March 2024

Lifeworks Community,

As I shared in my January update, Lifeworks is continuing to educate our communities on disability inclusion trainings. We believe wholeheartedly in this work because we have seen the difference that a more welcoming and inclusive community can make.

In the last few months, more than 300 people have attended disability inclusion trainings presented by Lifeworks. One training client had this to say after they participated in our Inclusive Workplaces for People with Disabilities training:

“Overall, my team felt much better equipped to support and advocate for colleagues with a disability after this training. It gave us good perspective on the variety of ways inclusivity can become part of our everyday work environment.”

Our post-training data confirms this feedback: attendees reported their confidence in supporting a co-worker with a disability increased by nearly 50%!

Lifeworks is continuing to build our curriculum, in partnership with disability advocates, to meet our community where they are along their own disability inclusion journeys. Our training menu includes topics such as: Inclusive Workplaces for People with Disabilities, Disability 101, Workplace Accommodations, Avoiding Ableism and Becoming Allies, and Neurodiversity and Disability.

This month, we were honored to be invited to the Minnesota House Human Services Policy Committee to testify on behalf of House File 4075. HF 4075 would fund the Lifeworks statewide disability inclusion pilot, making a more disability-friendly Minnesota for everyone. We are excited to have the opportunity to request a statewide investment in our work because we know how important it is. Stay tuned to Lifeworks social media to learn about updates as the bill progresses.
