The Latest at Lifeworks – November 2023

Lifeworks Community,

Throughout the year, I have shared about the importance of disability inclusion for our communities and the people with disabilities we partner with. This topic has been so top of mind for me because we have seen that people with disabilities want to access their communities, but our communities are not welcoming to them.

At Lifeworks, we tasked ourselves with changing the landscape and perceptions of our communities through our Listen. Educate. Navigate.™ disability inclusion trainings. So far, a handful of organizations have enthusiastically stepped up to join us in advancing disability inclusion by hiring Lifeworks to train their staff.

In the last few weeks, we hosted trainings for three partners with over 280 people in attendance. After participating in our trainings, 54% of attendees reported they felt more confident in their ability to support a co-worker with a disability.

Although we are just getting started, our impact in just the last month makes me feel optimistic. I am hopeful that our communities will be more welcoming to people with disabilities, that people outside of our sector see the value of disability inclusion, and that together we will create radically inclusive communities.

We need people like you to invest in disability inclusion. I invite you to join us by:

Your investment funds the work it takes for Lifeworks to increase our reach and train more businesses, communities, and organizations on disability inclusion, making the world more welcoming to people with disabilities.

Warmly,
Gertrude
