Since 2010, Lifeworks Services, Inc. has partnered with people with disabilities and their families in the Brooklyn Park area through Day Support Services. With the people we support leading the way, we have been reimagining what day support services can look like when they are based in our community.
The lease of our facility on Northland Terrace in Brooklyn Park ends in March 2023, and Lifeworks will not be renewing the lease. We’re taking this opportunity to look ahead to the future and continue expanding our day services out into the community where we live and work together.
Throughout the entire planning process, we are living our value of “You Lead the Way – We Listen” by centering the lived experiences of the people we partner with to envision what’s next. We’ve already started connecting with our current customers to get their input on what they like about our services and what they’d like to see more of. Eighty-four percent of our current customers shared with us that they love community activities – everything from volunteering to visiting libraries, parks, and community centers. Not renewing our lease in Brooklyn Park will allow us to expand these services into new areas.
We’re here to support and work with the people we partner with, their families, and caregivers through this transition. Please know that Lifeworks will continue to partner with people with disabilities and their families through day services. We remain committed to providing opportunities to explore interests, develop skills, and build community connections.
