Work|Life™ Self-Advocacy Conference: My Community & My Rights

Lifeworks Self-Advocacy Conference

About:

Hosted by Lifeworks’ Disability Inclusion Consultants, this virtual conference provides an opportunity to connect with fellow self-advocates and share local resources while building your understanding of rights and best practices for accessing your community.

Topics include:

  • How to identify what matters to you
  • How to access community resources
  • How to participate in advocacy efforts
  • How to build networks and coalitions

This conference includes speakers from the University of Minnesota: Institute on Community Integration (ICI), Advocating Change Together (ACT), The Arc Minnesota, Minnesota Disability Law Center, and Minnesota Disability Justice Network.

When:

Monday, July 13, 2020 | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Can’t make the entire day? You may come to one or all of the sessions! Each one includes a presentation and a breakout discussion led by a peer mentor.

Where:

Online!  Participants will need an internet connection to access the conference.
