POSITION OVERVIEW – Service Specialist

Lifeworks is seeking a full-time Service Specialist to support adults with disabilities through focused activities that challenge and enrich their long-range goals. The Service Specialist will work in Apple Valley, the surrounding community, and virtually.

Position Title: Service Specialist

Department: Apple Valley

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (Non-exempt)

Location: Lifeworks Services – Apple Valley / 100% in-person

Compensation: $16.00 +

Sign on bonus: up to $1,500 (to be paid out at 60 days and 120 days of employment)

How you’ll be spending your time:

  • Developing, organizing, and leading group activities/classes in the center, community or virtually through Zoom.
  • Teaching a variety of enrichment skills including wellness, healthy living and life skills to individuals in a classroom or one-on-one.
  • Transporting individuals out into the community for volunteering and other outings using a company vehicle or personal vehicle.
  • Supporting individuals in completing goals and documenting their progress.
  • Observing safety procedures and personnel policies. Balance important to and important for decisions of participants in their communities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Access to reliable transportation for work driving purposes
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Candidate must complete and pass a pre-employment background study; a physical and drug screen; and have access to reliable transportation for work purposes.
