Minnesota Department of Human Services Introducing New Employment Services for People with Disabilities
To provide new services and resources, create more individualized services, and allow for more specific service planning, the Minnesota Department of Human Services is introducing new employment services for people with disabilities available on July 1, 2018.
Individuals currently utilizing Day Training and Habilitation funding will begin transitioning to the new services on September 1, 2018 based on their service authorization renewal date. Transitions will be complete by September 1, 2019.
These new services – Employment Exploration, Employment Development, and Employment Support – were initially approved by the Minnesota State Legislature in June 2017. Amendments were submitted on October 31, 2017, and the Center for Medicaid Services approved the services on March 8, 2018.
