CARF Accreditation

Lifeworks awarded three-year CARF accreditation

For three days in 2004, a team of four investigators from other states visited Lifeworks’ employment sites, reviewed services and policies, and talked to staff, clients, and employers as part of the application process for our employment services to become CARF accredited.

CARF stands for Committee on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Accreditation allows Lifeworks to provide a broader range of employment services to Rehabilitative Services clients.

The investigators listed four exemplary practices and added that these are rarely awarded to a service provider. The four are Lifeworks’:

  • Technology plan
  • Electronic client file system
  • Diversity initiative
  • Concept of networking as everyone’s job, including our E-Net online networking system that allows friends of Lifeworks to share job leads and contact names.
Lifeworks welcomes requests for accommodations such as an interpreter or information in an alternate format. All of our facilities are physically accessible.
